Spiked to the head.

This is Standford's Alicia Follmar during the first leg of the Distance Medley at the historic Penn Relays.  She got spiked in head by another runner's shoe during the start and managed to finish a "gutsy third" for her team.  We need more tough runners and people like her.

Also, other recent running news, well old news at this point was the closest women's finish for the Boston Marathon ever. Dire Tune said, "I want to win Boston," before the race and she did. That type of determination is inspiring. After a close battle to the finish with Alevtina Biktimirova of Russian, Dire the 22 year old of Ethiopia won by 2 seconds.
