Comeback Kid

Frances Koons of Villanova was named the "Outstanding Track Athlete" at the Big East championship meet at Villanova this past weekend, winning both the 1,500 and 5,000 meters yesterday. This is all after recovering from kidney cancer that she was diagnosed with about a year ago. It's amazing she even got this type of cancer which was "result of clear-cell renal-cell carcinoma, a cancer most commonly associated with people over age 50 and with smokers."
I have seen this girl race several times, and she is tiny and tough. A great athlete. I mean, technically I guess I raced with her at Big East Track and Cross Country Championship meets, but she is way way faster than me so it doesn't really count.

What school did you run for?

If you ran in the Big East you are a talented athlete!
